The aims and objectives of Beauty Stop Academy is to teach women and girls all aspects of professional hairdressing. Our aspiration is that young women gain the opportunity to learn how to love, nurture, and grow natural hair of all types. The course is open to women and girls over 16 years of age, who are interested in hairdressing for personal or professional purposes. Many African women suffer from hair loss (alopecia) caused by wearing wigs, or tension from tight braids. At Beauty Stop academy, women and girls will learn how to work with all hair types (Afro, European, Asian etc). Once students completes level 1 and 2, and graduates from our academy, they will be able to find work in most salons and hotels in Gambia. Once a student graduates with level 3, they will be equipped with the knowledge and experience to start their own hairdressing business.

Beauty Stop academy is a professionally equipped teaching salon where students will be supervised by hairdressing professionals. Our courses are designed to not only facilitate access into the hair and beauty industry, but to instill confidence, motivation and discipline into young women.

We also offer a range of part-time courses to introduce new skills, or develop and expand the skill set of existing professionals in the hair and beauty field.

The salon is open to the public, and offer a variety of services to customers so students can gain first hand hairdressing experience in the work place.
